Michael Mason, a pick-pocket living in Paris takes a sack with a teddy bear in it. Not understanding the toy contains a planned bomb, he throws it to the side on a bustling road. A couple of moments later it detonates, killing four individuals. CCTV film uncovers Masons face and the French police label him as a psychological militant danger. The blast, albeit bungled, was set up by a select gathering of the French Interior Ministry as a bait so they can earn anything advanced move from a bank, (shut on French National Day) – thus the title Bastille Day. In a different CIA examination the raucous specialist Sean Briar, finds the genuine story behind Masons “psychological militant assault”. The two men, on various sides of the law, team up to bring the bad individuals from the Ministry down.
