Cassidy Merteuil, the far-off cousin of Kathryn Merteuil, shows up in Santa Barbara, California to go to school. There she meets Jason Argyle, a previous companion from her secondary school likewise going to the school. Jason gets a flatmate, Patrick Bales. Jason and Patrick structure a gutless organization of luring and unloading different young ladies nearby. When both of their most recent victories bore them, Jason wagers Patrick in the event that they can tempt a specific newbie, who is under the wing of Cassidy. Yet, nothing is what it appears to be as a triangle of Cassidy, Jason, and Patrick structures with everyone plotting to outsmart the other.
